Department of Psychology - Master of Arts in Psychology with a Concentration in Substance Abuse Treatment
The UNCW Psychology Department’s graduate program has three concentrations: general, substance abuse treatment, and applied behavior analysis. The substance abuse treatment concentration (Clinical) prepares students to sit for the Licensed Psychological Associate and Certified Substance Abuse Counselor examinations and for licensure as a Clinical Addictions Specialist (CAS). This concentration focuses on assessment and the use of psychotherapy in the treatment of substance abuse in adults. The Psychology department is located within the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.

Department of Social Work
The UNCW Department of Social Work offers both undergraduate (BSW) and masters (MSW) degrees. The MSW program is committed to preparing graduate students for a career in clinical practice dedicated to assisting individuals, groups, families, and communities in their quest for well-being, and social and economic justice. The program is geared towards preparing students for a specialty in clinical social work with a firm foundation in generalist social work. The program is located at the University of North Carolina in Wilmington.
